Who Is Vanillamace?
Emily, who goes by Vanillamace online, is a digital content creator, model, and blind box connoisseur. She describes herself as “a girl who doesn’t shut up” and streams live on Twitch every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. She’s been making content for quite a while, but it’s only recently that she’s blown tf up.
Just a few days ago, she was celebrating reaching 500k followers on TikTok.

Now (at the time of publication), she’s almost at 1M followers. Crazy—but she deserves all the success she’s getting.
Why did Vanillamace blow up?
Although she’s been posting content for a very long time, it’s only in the last month that she’s garnered the attention of the chronically online. But why, you may ask?
It all stemmed from one TikTok video she posted…
The Christmas Tree Incident

Like I mentioned, she lovessss a blind box and often posts reaction videos of her opening them.
This video, captioned “the popmart trip of unimaginable pain and despair” starts like any normal vlog—she heads to popmart, buys a few blind boxes, then returns to her car to film herself opening them.
The collectible she was most excited to open was the SKULLPANDA Winter Symphony Series Plush, which is quite popular (it’s still sold out on the popmart website). She tells us that she would be happy with any of them “except that fuckass Christmas tree”.

Look at that thing…I wouldn’t want her either. No shade, but compared to the other girlypops in the collection, she’s definitely the ugly duckling.

To sum it up—in case you aren’t one of the 9.5 million people who have viewed the video—she opens the blind box and guess who is inside. THAT FUCK ASS CHRISTMAS TREE!

Heavy with pain and despair, she heads back into the mall to go pick up another box, because there’s no way she’ll open up another one of those fuckass Christmas trees’…right?
WRONG!
Yep…the blind box gods have a wicked sense of humour. The video ends with her defeated. Rightfully so.

Post-Christmas Tree Incident
It’s been a few weeks now since the dreaded Christmas tree incident, and Vanillamace continues to grow her following on the internet. Her personality is refreshing and funny. She reminds me a bit of Jenna Marbles, mixed with Trisha Paytas.
The internet is growing tired of influencers with their perfectly curated lives, who all dress and act the same.
Watching a Vanillamace video feels like being on FaceTime with your bestie, and I think that’s why the internet so quickly fell in love with her. Myself included.
